"THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE"

This weekend my family came into town to thaw out a little from the Idaho cold. My dad, Zane, Andy, and I took a trip down to Tombstone, AZ where the infamous Earp-Clanton shoot-out took place at the O.K. Corral. It was a quick trip, but we did get to see a lot of fun stuff including the O.K. Corral, and my very favorite thing in Tombstone: The Birdcage Theatre! The Birdcage Theatre opened in December of 1881 and closed it’s doors in 1889. During it’s short business life, the Bird Cage was the wildest place in the west! The Bird Cage is named after it’s thirteen little cribs that hang from the ceiling where ladies of the night plied their trades. Also, the longest single poker game in history was played in the basement. Eight years and four months of one continuous poker game! The fun thing about the Birdcage is that everything in it is original and authentic. The curtains, the piano, the tables, the bullet holes! Very fun!
