Empress Avenue

This posting is specifically for Alissa. She has been bugging me for months and months to send pictures of our house. Lis, these are for you! I think that they are kind of boring, but I guess they might be fun for those of you who haven't visited us down here in Arizona yet. It does look better in real life, because I'm not much of a photographer. Feel free to come and visit our house for the real affect! We would love it!

I have included some close up's of some of our furniture. When we first got married and moved into this house we owned a few pieces of furniture. Our mattress was given to us by Andy's sister and her husband, Kiersten and Lee, and we were lucky to get the awesome couches from my parents/grandparents (I believe that my grandparents were the ones that bought them originally, then my parents used them, then they went back to my grandparents, and then finally we got them!) They have had a long life, and even if they aren't the most gorgeous couches, in their old years, they are very comfortable. They make me feel at home, because they were the couches that I was raised with. Anyways, enough of my ramblings about that, back to the topic! Besides the couches and beds, we had to buy the rest of our furniture. I am bragging here. We spent under $200.00 to furnish our house! We bought everything at Goodwill, and then my extremely talented husband labored in the hot Arizona summer garage and refinished all of the pieces that we bought. I love them because they are the work of Andy. He is the one that made our house look like a home!

Your house is so cute! I love all the pics. Andy did a great job on all those pieces - those definately take work and they look awesome.
